Debriefing Traumatic Events one to one
As with the one-day course for debriefing teams, this course is designed to build confidence and skills to have the conversations necessary after a traumatic incident. In this course we focus on a conversation you may need to have alone.
Many people feel anxious and avoidant having conversations when bad things have happened for fear of doing more harm.
It is, however, generally acknowledged that people need to talk about what they experienced and there are benefits in doing so.
With the help of senior clinical leaders who debrief difficult incidents regularly, a role play actor who is an experienced facilitator, and a psychotherapist we will help you understand the advantages and pit falls of a debrief.
We will offer practice opportunities and a simple model to work to in order to build skills and confidence on this subject. This course works closely with a role play actor who will help the group experience and discuss the sort of conversations that may occur.
